Chrishell Stause Is In Tears Over Justin Hartley Split On Selling Sunset

Selling Sunset star Chrishell Stause opened up in front of cameras this season about her life as a realtor, but she also got real about her personal life. Specifically, her surprise divorce from This Is Us star Justin Hartley.

The trailer for the drama “still to come” was part of the last episode of Season 2 – which hit Netflix on May 22 – and an announcer teases that Stause is “dealing with change” after her sudden split from Hartley, which occurred in November 2019.

The clip features the entire cast of Selling Sunset looking at their phones in disbelief when they see the news of the split, and an announcer says that Stause’s husband – who she names as “This Is Us star Justin Hartley” – has filed for divorce.

Through tears, the former Young and the Restless actress says that she’s “just kind of in shock with it all.” And, when a friend asks if Hartley “blindsided” her, Stause simply nods while she continues to cry.

Later in the trailer, Stause is seen packing a suitcase and she says: “It’s just a lot all at once because everybody in the whole world knows. I love him so much. This was my best friend. Who do I talk to now?”

Stause is also seen at her co-star Christine Quinn’s wedding – which happened in April 2020 – where she complains that she doesn’t want to be there and doesn’t want “to do this anymore” before she apparently leaves the event.

Hartley and Stause dated for four years before they got married in October 2017. Hartley filed for divorce in November and cited “irreconcilable differences.” He also noted that the date of separation was on July 8. But, in Stause’s response, she claimed that the date of separation was November 22, the day he filed for divorce.

“I obviously really, truly love him and it’s unfortunate the way that everything happened and the timing of everything,” Stause told Entertainment Tonight. “I still had a month to plot shooting the show when this all went down. Hopefully we can get to a place where one day we will look back at this and laugh. I don’t know, hopefully. It’s very unfortunate and relationships are hard.”

The first two seasons of Selling Sunset are currently streaming on Netflix. This Is Us is on hiatus and is scheduled to return to NBC for Season 5 this fall.
